Wrelton/Snainton - 10th December 2023

By Sonja Allen

The coach took us to Wrelton where we started our leisurely walk of 5.5 miles towards Pickering. As it is tradition for the club in December, we walked as one group which is always a good way to get to know members you normally don't walk with. A further tradition is to bring along some festive food such as pies, sweets, stollen, gingerbreads etc. and share it among the members during the breaks. When we headed towards Pickering - passing the famous railway station - the coach was waiting for us to take us to the Coachman Inn in Snainton where we were about to have our Christmas meal.

At the Coachman Inn we enjoyed a very delicious three (or two) course meal which ranged from the traditional turkey dinner to chicken kebab, duck, lamb or fish pie. There was something for every taste. We also held a raffle with the proceeds going to Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
